Laurencia elata

This is a sculptural embroidery of seaweed species, Laurencia elata, created with freehand machine stitching on water-soluble fabric. Peach-to-burgundy threads form overlapping branches, which are mounted on fine pins so the delicate structure sits clear of the paper.
