Raku masks

These round masks express different emotions. Nuria R. Artuñedo made them with grogged stoneware, which she shaped using slab building and modelling techniques. The pieces were glazed in a white crackle finish, fired in a handmade gas kiln and then reduced in oak sawdust to produce the characteristic black tones and metallic reflections typical of the raku technique.
