This dress employs a technique Yanis Miltgen developed using paper, water-soluble fabric and embroidery. It was created for Hand & Lock's 2024 Prize. More than 200 different threads achieve subtle variations in texture and colour gradients. The design references book restoration and conservation, exploring the book as a physical testament to accumulated knowledge and the traces left both by readers and restorers.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
