This handmade and painted porcelain platter depicts a Zimmer’s Sea Fan coral (Mopsella zimmer). The clay is rolled out and draped over a mould and once dry, the illustration is monoprinted on. It is then fired to a bisque, painted with watercolour-like washes of underglaze, then covered in a clear glaze and fired a second time.
