Blooming in Silence

This ceramic sculpture explores the essence of female nature, symbolised by the clitoris, trapped within a cage of wires, representing the ongoing oppression it faces. The cage of wires serves as a metaphor for societal taboos, shame, lack of education, and historical repression. However, even when imprisoned, the ceramic form blooms, insisting through its presence. This work is a tribute to inner resilience and the power that endures even when forced into silence. The piece invites viewers to pause, to look, and to listen – not with ears, but with empathy. It raises questions around femininity, visibility, body awareness, and emancipation.
