This is a classic French country style Olivia dining chair with ebonised body and padded armrests. The gold Litema monogram made with beadwork encircles the back of the seat in a crescent shape. The distinctive medallion back is made with a swirling pattern using woven grass in a dark lavender palette and yellow highlights. The beadwork and weaving are adornments of Bantu cultural symbols and the padded fabric upholstery is made with velvet.
