Textile Geometry

This sculptural piece was inspired by the nest of the Brazilian bird Japira. The taffeta was laser cut to create the voids and volumes. The tension generated by the fabric’s own weight and the metallic threads gives it the elasticity to transform the flat surface into a 3D hanging shape.
