This Japanese stoneware vase features a Shiroi glaze, with drips on a dark background. It was restored using the kintsugi technique with 24 carat gold and urushi whihc is Japanese lacquer. Finely chiselled scarab elytra with iridescent reflections are inlaid into the black lacquer, with the gold and the elytra illuminating the cracks.
