This bowl is made of stoneware and was decorated using the sgraffito technique. Sgraffito is a technique used to create a pattern by scratching away a layer of black clay with a fine tool, to reveal the white clay underneath. The decoration is geometric, but made spontaneously as an exploration into free-flowing creativity.
