This is a sculpture with a rough, textured, mineral-like layer around the outer edges of the ring. The inner grid is an almost bony structure organising the internal space, though there is no heart or centre. The two plane faces are completely flat and polished giving the impression they do not really exist, and that the piece is hollow.
