Many of David Cass’ artworks are produced over long periods. Weeks often pass between one layer and another. Thus, the object lives with the artist, it becomes part of the studio. Exposed wood acts as a sky in this piece; the hole where a handle once turned acts as a light source, illuminating a patch of undulating water.
