Different Seeds – Similar Deeds
In this work, Pınar Baklan stuck corn and rice grains into the mud of the sphere-shaped pieces she depicted as seeds in the work. These grains burned away during firing and left their marks on the pieces. She wanted to reflect the following idea with this two-piece work, one of which she glazed yellow and the other left white (unglazed): "Even though we are born from different seeds, we have similar forms, surfaces and roots. We complete each other."
