Terra (esparto circle sculpture)

This is a sculpture crafted from crushed esparto dyed in natural colours, with a recycled wooden base and a vertical iron rod support. The esparto weaving is based on the combed stitch/fillet technique here. The piece began with a warp and weft of 4 strands each. The final finish of the circle was left with the esparto strands unbraided.
