The shape of this bauble is flattened. The sides are carved with a traditional Uzbek pattern reminiscent of a panjara. The bauble is painted in blue colours, evoking architectural monuments painted in these colours. Such painting was popular during the reign of the Timurids in the late 15th century and has remained a classic of Timurid ornamentation.
