The Birth of Jesus panel
The oval frame depicts a nativity scene. It is made entirely of pine wood and is handcrafted. A sculpture in relief is carved into the front part, and then to emphasize the depth of the relief, it was patinated with black oil after being treated with transparent varnish. The frame's form was created by milling the oval's outlines, and the side contours were then covered in gold leaf using a special process.
