Fossils

These plates and bowls were turned by hand on the potter's wheel reiterating circular shapes, textured with the Kana technique, a Japanese term meaning 'powerful'. Gray, ochre and beige shades, plus contrasting textures on the surface, evoke fossil-like patterns. Fired at high temperature in a gas oven with a reduced atmosphere.
