This embroidered textile wall hanging was made with the tufting technique, using blue and teal polyester thread on a grey melange wool cloth. Exploring painterly strokes, Anna Gravelle represented the movement of birds in the graduating blue threads. The inspiration for this work comes from a family trip to the Somerset Levels to watch the swirling starlings.
