Pen Zen

The case of this gold nib pen was carved from a piece of obsidian, a volcanic rock that is normally black but, as here, can present shades of brown. Hervé uses his profound knowledge of glyptic art, gained over a lifetime of working its various techniques, to shape the barrel and cap of this elegantly balanced pen.
