Efflorescence 3

Efflorescence, a sculptural abundance of porcelain flowers, are Vanessa Hogge's latest 2020 creations. The elegant ceramic sculpture was shaped using complicated hand-built techniques and a precarious balancing of porcelain flowers. This white porcelain vessel is intricately decorated with a cascade of hand-pinched porcelain flowers. The clay has been torn, pinched, rolled and cut to form simple petals that blossom and grow into complex symmetrical forms.
