This piece draws its inspiration from the traditions of the Middle Ages and the refinement of the Gothic era. The flower motifs recall the poets Pierre de Ronsard and François de Malherbe, whose works celebrated the ephemeral beauty of life. En Mai 2015 thus pictures a rose that has already blossomed, fragile yet perennial.
