Melancholia, a hand blown cut glass vase, explores notions of human existentialism. The vase is based on Anna Polanská's personal memory of feeling the power of loneliness in the quiet of a dark cold night while aside a mountain top lake. It was not a feeling of loneliness but rather of communion with nature. The figurative composition was made in a round frame, a reminder of a signet with symbolic meaning.
