Corrosion Textile - surface experiment

Experimental sample made of cotton yarn and rusted copper fibre created by wilfully destroying the metal thread with steam to achieve an organic pattern on the textile surface. With its contrasting gloss and matte, soft and hard surfaces, Mónika Kovács' collection of metallic textiles seeks to imitate nature. The interplay of metallic and cotton threads creates a special light effect that recalls the sun's glitter and water's clarity within the home.
