Ocean II

The slab built vase by Barbara Hertwig is part of the Galaxy collection. It is made from a grey-blue and apricot terra sigillata and partially hand painted. The wax resist technique, gravure printing and graphical incisions give the vase its unusual texture. White glaze hand painted with a brush gives the piece a crackled slip finish.
