This Gaiwan teapot is cast from white clay, fired twice at 1,030°C and decorated with printed underglaze colours as well as transparent glaze. It was made after Nataša Kabalin experienced the tea ceremony, where she first saw how this vessel is used to prepare tea. A friend who was performing the ceremony challenged her to design and create her own Gaiwan vessel.
