Salix Chair

An elegant, light, yet supremely comfortable chair using the properties of steam bent ash and willow. The backrest and arms are split from a straight and knot-free piece of English ash, carefully shaped and smoothed using traditional tools such as the draw knife and spokeshave. The part-finished component is then steamed for over an hour, making it pliable.
