A red donut teapot

This polished red clay teapot in a donut shape is handmade on a traditional pottery wheel. The shaped pot is trimmed, polished and fired at stoneware temperatures in an energy-efficient kiln. The fully vitrified red clay provides a smooth silky matt surface that does not absorb water. This allows Yuliya to skip the second glaze firing to save energy. The resulting effect resembles the famous Yixing ceramic ware.
