Dance of Phoenix is a slender goblet formed using a traditional plique-à-jour technique. A mould of the object is created and fine silver wires are soldered in a pattern onto the surface. Coloured enamel pieces are inserted and melted into the pattern cells. The object is then polished. The design is inspired by the phoenix’s colourings and stained glass windows of Western churches.
