The Date Basket

This sculptural basket is made of woven palm leaves and given a solid frame with sculpted bronze and silver. It features four bronze figures chained to their wings, their bodies ending in flowering tree trunks. The lid features four oryxes whose horns lift a sculpted globe in solid silver.
