Metamorphosis Kimono

This handcrafted paper kimono and oversized obi are an homage to an ancient ceremonial piece. The kimono was cut from a traditional pattern and was then marbled and tailored. The three-metre long obi was also marbled. The result is an otherworldly, space age reinterpretation of two ancient designs, tethered to the world of nature all the while.
