Torbjørn & Jenny: Ceramics

Ceramicist Torbjørn Kvasbø based in Norway & Swedish fellow Jenny Hamrell

The village of Venabygd, with its harsh winters, strong craft traditions and culture of hard work, informs the life and artistic practice of Torbjørn, who studied ceramics at Bergen School of Applied Arts. In 2020 he founded the Centre for Ceramic Art, an experimental, international artist residency for visiting ceramic artists that also hosts exhibitions and courses.

Jenny, a graduate of Oslo’s National Academy of the Arts, pursues a sculptural ceramic practice that is strongly informed by the human form. Her goal is to develop an international ceramic career grounded in material research, large-scale ceramic sculpture, glaze development and installation.
