Julián & Alba: Leatherworking

Leatherworker Julián Sañudo based in Spain & Colombian fellow Alba Botero

Julián is a second-generation leatherworker based in Barcelona. Growing up in a family workshop, he was surrounded by leather from an early age. Using techniques such as hand engraving and embossing, mosaic and sculpture, he and his team at Sañudo Artesania create unique pieces that combine traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary approach.

Alba trained in leathercraft at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios Santo Domingo in Bogotá. Drawn to decoration and traditional techniques, she is seeking to broaden her skills in engraving and leather craft in order to establish her own practice and continue the tradition of leatherwork in Colombia.
