Learn all about the wooden loom

Based in the charming city of Nafplio, Maria Gonidou welcomes visitors for a private tour of her workshop to discover the profession of a weaver. After an opening presentation of the textiles, their history and the techniques, Maria sits on her ancient wooden loom for a practical demonstration. Participants learn about the process and how the tool works with the different materials. They also come to understand the time and concentration required to master the loom. The last part of the visit is dedicated to exchange; Maria gladly answers all questions, inviting conversation.
