Which are the most interesting materials you use?
One of my favourite materials is mole skin. The skin is extraordinary and originates from my grandmother's old mole skin coat that I inherited after she passed away. This material is very dear to me, and so it is present in many of my pieces!
How long does it take to finish your pieces?
There is no linear process in creation, but rather a flux of come and go until the piece is finally ready. And because of this, I work on several pieces simultaneously, and usually, my jewellery pieces and collections take several years to complete.
Where do you draw inspiration for your work?
Life in all its forms! A lot of my works are the result of subconscious decisions, but at the same time they portray a profound meaning related to my own life experiences. I believe everything comes from oneself, and it’s important to be patient when waiting for the outcome.
Do you feel that the craft is disappearing?
Yes, I see that younger generations are not eager to study the fundamentals of the craft, but rather to jumpstart on projects and get immediate results. Without the knowledge of the properties of gemstones, one can easily break the stone during polishing, this craft requires precision and training.
