INTERVIEW
It comes from innovation, such as a new paper, novel pigments or a technical advancement. Sometimes, as I figure out a challenging printing job, my thoughts lead me to new ways of doing something.
My primary work is pure craft; however the graphic design process and other tasks such as communication are digital. My task is to combine both in an optimal way; in other words, to use digital technology to optimise the manual screen-printing results.
That it is possible to produce very professional and elaborate results with the relatively simple technique of screen-printing; and that it is still possible to influence the result very strongly with your personality.
Yes, because with innovative ideas it is still possible to make a living out of it. Graphic screen-printing is very rare today, but there is great demand in functional printing for the technology and the expertise.
