Legatoria Artigiana Napoli is a historic studio in Naples with a century-long devotion to fine bookbinding. “Our books are bound by hand, shaped by thought and created with heart,” the atelier's team shares. Founded by Michele Eliseo in the late 1800s and shaped by generations of artisans who passed down their knowledge by hand, Legatoria Artigiana Napoli has become a custodian of an endangered craft rooted in tradition, precision and a deep love for books.

In the 1980s, when the original Eliseo family workshop of Legatoria Artigiana Napoli faced closure, a new generation of young artisans stepped in. They revitalised the space with fresh energy, while remaining committed to safeguarding its traditional techniques. In addition to bookbinding, the atelier's artisans create a wide range of custom-made items, from boxes and folders to albums, cases and decorative pieces. This work not only extends Legatoria Artigiana Napoli's bookbinding heritage but also helps sustain the atelier’s future.
