A new life for old sails

Junkle is a Palermo-based atelier that transforms used sails, deadstock fabrics and discarded PVC materials into colourful and vibrant apparel, bags and accessories. The workshop's mission is to oppose the environmental impact of hyper-production and waste-driven consumption by giving new life to functional materials destined for landfills. The creative team follows the motto 'keep the junk, save the jungle'.

In addition to its own product collections, Junkle creates custom-made furniture, accessories and home pieces, guided by the principles of upcycling and conscious design. Some of the recent projects include beanbags for the Superbude Hotel in Vienna, upholstery work and pouffes for the Radici Museum in Palermo, and lampshades and shower partitions for the Circolo della Vela Sicilia sailing club in Palermo, made from the club’s old sails.
