How do you personally define illustration?
I see illustration as a means to communicate a message. It is a language to tell stories, describe concepts, or sell ideas—whether mine or a client's. This places illustration in the field of applied arts. I like the visual style I have created for myself, and I am confident it is bold and clear enough to communicate all kinds of projects.
What makes your illustrations unique?
A combination of unique style and adaptation for different kinds of projects. Usually, illustration leans more towards one of these pillars, resulting in either fine art or a generic feel. I intentionally strive to connect functionality with provocative visuals for each creative endeavour.
Do you always have enough room for self-expression?
While my work and creative process hold significant importance, they are not the sole areas of focus. I view my personal, non-commissioned work as primarily driven by my own ideas, or in other words, a pure self-realisation process.
How do you overcome creative limitations?
The limits serve as inspiration to think outside the box and manage to meet them while doing something that sparks interest. In my creative process, there is always a reality-check moment after diving into the creative pool, where ideas confront the technical aspects. This dialogue between concept and technique is crucial for further development.
