The story of Travisanutto Mosaics started in 1949, when Giovanni Travisanutto, still a child, began to study as a mosaic maker in Spilimbergo, the cradle of this art. By 2003, Giovanni and his son Fabrizio had opened up Travisanutto Mosaics. Their atelier has created thousands of artistic and monumental mosaic works all over the world, collaborating with artists, including Yaioi Kusama, Frank Stella, Xenobia Bailey, Sean Scully, Jack Beal, Nancy Blum.
Among their works are 40 New York subway stations, the airports of Phoenix, Orlando, Washington, and Atlanta, the monastery of Saint Irene in Athens, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, churches and temples in Greece, Ireland, the USA, and Thailand. “Our working group is like an orchestra, in which everyone plays their part. The artist is the composer, their sketch is the score," says Fabrizio, underlining how important dedication and care are in each phase of the realisation, up to the crucial moment of installation.
