Just outside Peckham Rye train station, under the train tracks in an unassuming warehouse is where some of the most sought-after knives are forged daily. Founded in 2014 by James Ross-Harris and Jon Warshawsky, Blenheim Forge is now one of the go-to knife suppliers of the UK’s top chefs, high-quality blades aficionados, and bespoke steel enthusiasts. What started as a DIY project turned into a full-time successful business of crafting premium knives. Inspired by Japanese knife-making, the atelier’s objects are made to perform and last.
Blenheim Forge’s secret to achieving the highest quality of knives lies in the thorough and meticulous forging process. The objects undergo a multistep process that includes core steel forming, steel and nickel forging, heating, fine grinding, bathing, sharpening, and honing. Artisans also take bespoke commissions and create exclusive limited-edition sets. The atelier produces 40 knives per week on average and exports their creations worldwide.
