Confluence of being; Universe combines

These sculptures by So Young Park were crocheted from steel, brass and copper wire. Individual elements were crafted separately and then stitched together into the final form, which was coated with ottchil, dried and baked in an oven. Treating each crochet loop as a cell, the pieces embody the generative process of life emerging from a single cell. As the loops multiply, they grow into forms that recall organs, muscles and bones.
