Sura Dani

This terracotta vessel is a traditional wine-storage pot, once common during the Nizam era in Kolkata. It features two curved handles and a tapering mouth for easy pouring. The body is etched with young bamboo shoots sprouting from the ground, marking the arrival of monsoon. Bamboo is revered in Northeast India for food, craft and construction.
