Kurobikari

This sculpture by Jacob Galissard was turned from wood and finished with dot-by-dot pyrography. Reflecting the artist's admiration for the work of two other artists, the piece combines the rich black surfaces and textural exploration associated with Pierre Soulages, with the sense of lightness and balance between solid and void found in the aesthetic of Tanabe Chikuunsai IV.
