This tapestry by Gaudencia Yupari Quispe was created from layered fabric forms cut from traditional skirts. The design was enriched with embroidery and decorative jewellery elements. The piece recounts an Andean tale of a vicuña herder seduced by a mysterious feminine mountain spirit. When he betrays her, he is condemned to lose both his life and soul to the spirit.
