Dahlia Rose; Kiku; Tulip Rococo

These sculptures by Junko Mori were hand forged from silver rods. Each petal was hammered flat, and its edges freely cut with a piercing saw. The metal was finally annealed and shaped into curling organic shapes through a punching process. Derived from botanical observation, the pieces possess an almost architectural complexity. Their layered forms appear to breathe with movement, playing with light and shadow.
