These jars by Moira Goodall were hand built from flattened coils. Coloured slips were applied to their surfaces, which were then burnished with a stone. The intricate patterns were achieved through a masking technique. Inspired by patterns of the tides, islands and saltings of the Essex estuary, the pieces reflect the sense of peace found when contemplating the coastal landscape.
