Magnolia Chair & Stool

This chair and stool by Clotilde Ancarani were hand modelled in wax and cast in bronze. The lines and veins of the plant were engraved with a drypoint, and the material was then chased and polished to reveal a brilliant sheen. Preserving the beauty of the magnolia at its peak, the pieces suggest a moment when fragility turns into strength, and the ephemeral is made eternal.
