©Pat BurnsOval vase with finger wipes
This ceramic vase is thrown on a treadle wheel and shaped while still soft to create an oval opening and flattened sides. It is dipped in glaze and wiped to form a loose decoration. Soda salt firing enhances the surface and affects the colour, including the unglazed base.
