Faceted vase
This ceramic vase is thrown on a treadle wheel and squared while still soft. At the leather hard stage, it is cut from the top to form faceted planes. The surface is finished with slips and glazes, using soda salt firing to create a textured finish, with heavier sodium deposits at the rim.
