Silk road

This sculpture is made of paper-thin pâte de verre, the innovative technique developed by Saman Kalantari that poses a very difficult formal challenge. The work evokes the Persian carpets in the bazaar of Shiraz, Saman's hometown, the moment the shops are opened to clients.
