These handcrafted lapel pins, or hairpins, are formed using mitsuro hikime, a centuries-old Japanese lost-wax method. Each petal is individually hand-shaped using beeswax, then arranged into a floral form. A stem is added to each, and to finish, 24k gold leaf is applied to the petals’ inner surfaces, to create a soft, glowing and luminous effect. The objects are displayed in iron bottles.
